Japanese-Americans and Korean-Americans have very different cultural norms, yet Asian-Americans in general have shared cultural traits that are different from European-American traits. I think there are cultural traits for Americans of European heritage that are substantively different from Americans of African, Latin American, or Asian descent and I don’t see why that has to be considered racist. I can certainly see why some expressions of that could be racist. But I don’t see why it is inherently racist because there are cultural traits shared at a level above their individual sub-cultures.
