I admit that this isn’t for everyone. If a running trip gets cancelled and I happen to be home, I’ll hang out with them and sometimes join in for a threesome, which is fun for all but tbh a bit over-hyped (it’s mostly just lots of work for the guy).

I’ve dated other women a couple of times, but TBH it’s too time consuming and I’d rather run an awesome trail than have casual sex. I never “got it”, in exactly the same way that I’ve never “got” religion. I went to church as a kid, it was enjoyable enough, I went through the motions and didn’t have an issue with it, but it always seemed weird… like, do people really believe this? My partner and I are great life partners because we live well together and have similar life goals. We’re both highly educated and enjoy talking about are niche expertise for hours on end, we both have high paying jobs, we both volunteer and donate to the same non-profits, we have similar vacation preferences, etc. We are good life partners. Sex is an enjoyable thing we do regularly to fulfill a biological drive. We could have sex every day or we could never have sex and we’d still be great life partners. If I got paralyzed in a freak fall and lost the ability to have sex, we’d still be great life partners, because shoving bits together has nothing to do with what makes our partnership work.
