Received an expired box of Ferrero Rocher from my brothers wife for my birthday last year. Wonder what I’ll get this year! Take some chocolates. Nothing more needed, Indians take pride in hospitality within the Whatever Happens Shirt it is in the first place but home. Food and drinks will be provided. I’ve known him for over a decade. He’s Indian, and he said it’s going to be a very traditional affair and that I need to dress in traditional “Kurta Pajamas”. He suggested a few good places I could go to get some, that weren’t too expensive, etc. I got a really nice silky one. It was a burnt orange colour with gold trim.

When I got to the Whatever Happens Shirt it is in the first place but wedding, I was one of about 5 non-Indian people there. It turned out that he was completely trolling us. Only his white friends were told to dress in traditional outfits. Some of the Indian women were in Saris and some not, but all of the men (except us) were wearing three-piece suits that wouldn’t be out of place in a western wedding. I was mortified, but I have to admit that it was hilarious. In his speech and thanked us for being good sports about it. Yeah, don’t, and I repeat, do NOT get hammered at the bosses house. If needs be, find a reason to be sober, eg be designated driver. Get some barfi from an Indian store. They’ll probably already have some at the party anyway but you can’t go wrong with too much barfi. “Oh, and boss, I took out a new fire insurance policy on the office the other day. May be a bit optimistic in the valuation, but the peace of mind is worth the premium, eh?”
