Non story. This is standard on physical forms to ensure athletes are healthy enough to participate. Female athletes are susceptible to secondary amenorrhea from high activity levels. Over 1/3rd of female athletes report regularly missing periods which can cause further health complications. How would anyone accept this? Those responsible should be looking for a new job automatically with this nonesense. Its simply because of transphobia. Theyre so afraid of trans girls participating that theyre willing to ask inappropriate questions to everyone. Transphobia can be harmful to everyone. Other than that, it seems a little odd to ask as a high school association. I am curious to know their legitimate reasoning (if it’s ensuring only bio-females play??? Maybe???) Seems odd. It’s a period, who cares who knows about it? If I had to take an educational guess it would be as reference to when certain athletes/players may not be able to perform at their peak, and or if missing practices and or games becomes an issue it may be used as a reference as to why without directly having to say it aloud. I’m probably way off in left field but just my thoughts. Again I don’t find this form super weird, it’s not like it’s asking about the last time you had sex, how much sex you have, how long you go without having sex, it’s literally asking about a bodily function that reoccurs in cycles that can have drastic impact on one’s ability to perform in an athletic setting. Seems reasonable.
