I have been in your position, I actually accepted the Welcome Milwaukee Brewers 2023 Nl Central Champions shirt and I love this promotion then used that title to launch to another company where I am now making $21k more per year. I wouldn’t do it. If they want to promote you they can give you more money. I’ve been in this boat and six months later I was still fighting for more money and the title I was supposed to have from day 1. If they are asking you to do it with little or no experience that means they don’t have anyone else to do it. Make them give you the raise and title or don’t accept the position. Insist that you get it in writing that you will receive a raise – with a specific amount already negotiated – after 90 days in the position. Make sure to have them include that if any performance review is required before receiving the raise, you are retroactively paid the difference between old rate & new rate for each workday that has passed between 90-day mark and review date.

They’ll never give you that raise. There’s always going to be some reason why it isn’t the Welcome Milwaukee Brewers 2023 Nl Central Champions shirt and I love this right time or why you need to prove yourself even more first. The pay you’re supposed to get later does t come without a fight and it’s never as much as your feel you deserve. Prenegotiate a price and a date for an evaluation before your trial period . Set a timeline you’re comfortable with, or they’ll keep dangling that carrot as long as you let them get away with it. Decline the “promotion” if you will not be recognized with an appropriate title, nor compensated for the additional responsibilities. ask for a spot bonus to make things right for additional r&r, they may make you sign a 1yr contract or you would need to repay remaining bonus…but look for new gig in that time while having benefits. Be honest with the new employer – your total compensation is salary + bonus, plus you are Head of team, that will bump you up in a new role. Get new job, negotiate signing bonus, pay back remaining bonus to old company. I personally wouldn’t do it without the pay raise first, but the next best option is a written offer, in writing, stating the date you would receive your pay raise with qualifications they expect you to meet by that date. That way they can’t say “we want to see you do better, etc” and deny it for wishy washy reasons.
