I wouldn’t say we do it as a whole nor do most women go braless in every occasion. I do go braless a lot but I wear clothes that are designed to prevent nipple poking through. That or I wear nipple pasties. It also heavily depends on the setting, like I would never go braless at work. I don’t think you should be shamed into wearing a bra if you really don’t want to, but you’re asking for feedback and I don’t think we should be lying about expectations in fashion just because we wish these social norms didn’t exist. The truth is visible nipple is still risqué for women in the current day. Everything else about your outfit seems too conservative for that to be your intention. I just have no idea where you’d wear this, as the hemline, stockings, and shoes screams family event at grandma’s or after office party and would really be out of place at a club or festival where revealing fashion is more acceptable.

I personally hate shape-wear bc I prefer to be comfortable, which is why I rarely wear dresses anyways. Accentuate for who? That makes me sad that you’re not wearing dresses. Do you only feel good in a dress when wearing shapewear? I think OP feels good! Isn’t that what counts? you ever considered why femininity is so often defined by wearing dresses, heels, makeup etc. WHY do any of that silliness?! I think they were joking….They’re saying why does anyone do any of it since it all falls under the umbrella of feminine fashion Sorry but nothing about that comment read like a joke, and the very next comment she left clarified that it definitely wasn’t. “I think the takeaway is that we should wear what ever makes us confident and comfortable” why would they be advocating for a bra but seriously making fun of people who wear dresses? not a big deal, just interpreted it a very different way I guess
