why are men here pretending they have never asked someone they trust about an insecurity they have about their body? is being technically right about language more important than being respectful? like I can’t genuinely believe this many grown men don’t understand. Probably because when I ask a question about my body I’m looking for an honest and straight-forward answer. Why else would I ask someone I trust? As a woman, I want the straightforward, honest answer. It doesn’t mean the person making the comment is unkind, just sometimes people misunderstand each other, or they unintentionally say the wrong thing because they don’t realise how the other person is feeling. Always always just say “this doesn’t suit your style” “this is unflattering on you” “dress B is more flattering and you look amazing in it” As someone with body insecurities, sometimes I know my brain makes me think I look fat when I probably don’t. So when I ask my partner for his opinion , I do want an honest one but not a hurtful one. It’s all about the tact.
