If he’s gaining weight and peeing 6+ times a day, you’re a lucky fucker and have a very efficient milk delivery system. 30 minutes is an average, some people need less, some need twice that. Pumping every time you feed can cause an oversupply, which can lead to a host of problems for you and baby (colic, clogged ducts, mastitis, etc.) so unless your doctor tell you different for some reason (like he’s not gaining enough or something), just switch back and forth between boobs at each feeding! My baby had the same problem at first. If yours is gaining weight, I wouldn’t worry. We had to constantly burp him, change diaper, rub his head, squeeze my breast so milk would come out, anything we could to get him to stay awake. I also had to set timers to wake him up to eat otherwise he’s keep sleeping. Now, just a week later, even when he has his eyes closed he is eating lol and he is not shy about letting me know when he’s ready to eat!
