I’m with your wife here. No matter how many work both parents are putting into the Wartburg Knights 2024 NCAA Division III Women’s basketball Championship shirt Besides,I will do this pregnancy and how much support there may be from the father, the baby is in the woman’s body. This isn’t a matter of taking care, but a matter of biology. It’s the most infuriating thing to hear. The partner can be the most supportive person in the world but they ARE NOT experiencing pregnancy nor will their body be irreparably changed. When I hear this I immediately hate the person whose mouth it dribbled from. So triggered! As a person who has had multiple pregnancies, this is ridiculous. My husband was never pregnant. This is such a patriarchal phrase. Men do not get to horn in on our experience of being pregnant. It’s just another way to put the man in the spotlight for what women are doing. And yes, I know there are always exceptions to the rule. I know about the pregnant man from ten years ago, I know trans men can get pregnant. This is obviously not what we’re talking about.

It’s just shorthand. If the Wartburg Knights 2024 NCAA Division III Women’s basketball Championship shirt Besides,I will do this mom disagrees with the term, don’t use it, because she’s really the one who is pregnant. But if she’s fine with it, don’t pick her battle for her. I am male. There is no we in pregnancy nor is there a we in child birth. It is all a woman’s burden and we males do literally nothing for the pregnancy which is why I would never claim “we” were pregnant. I fucked up and caused my wife pain and discomfort for 9 months before she was forced through the worst pain of her life for 12 hours straight due to me, is the best I would claim as far as a pregnancy is concerned. We never used the phrase. Think my partner would have been horrified to take that credit, so he should lol. But honestly, if another couple are using it then I’m not bothered or offended and certainly wouldn’t say anything. I’d assume they’re just excited and sharing the experience. Another perspective, my brother and his wife had children through a surrogate after several miscarriages. They never told anyone that they were pregnant because neither of them were. They just told people they were having babies and expecting babies (they had multiples).
