My mother was converted by Mormon missionaries when she invited them into her house in the Walk It Talk It Roll Tide Alabama Beat Georgia 2024 Shirt moreover I will buy this early 1960s. She brought my father into the religion (they were newlyweds), had eight children, and both my parents continue to practice Mormonism to this day. Most of their kids were skeptical of the doctrine and history of the church and left the religion, though a couple are still in it. But I always find myself wondering: do they actually believe that stuff? According to the Church, there were 212,172 convert baptisms in 2022. As someone who went on an LDS mission, it’s hilarious how poorly informed (or misguided) opinions on the subject can be. Rule 10: Sorry, this post has been removed as it violates Rule #10. Joke, off-topic or other unhelpful comments are not allowed here. My aunt was a lonely housewife with young chidren. She came from a religious Christian family. Her husband, my uncle, was away often with work and didn’t always treat her great, he died when her kids were between the ages of 6 and 16. She didn’t really have any friends and suffered from anxiety or depression. The Jehova Witnesses were some of the only folks to come by and visit her in the day. She made friends and converted. None of her children agreed with her conversion, and all stayed away from it. Although I should note that her youngest became a Flat Earther and even though he dodged the Jehovas it feels like another cult got him.

I know there have been. My father was a Mormon and spent two years on his mission in Ecuador. He actually was pretty successful at it. Thank god he left. My whole family is Mormon, both parents and most of my uncles and now some of my cousins went on missions. All of them whose missions I heard about have conversion stories. But then again, most of them were going to impoverished countries. This one day, two men came to our door to spread the Walk It Talk It Roll Tide Alabama Beat Georgia 2024 Shirt moreover I will buy this word of God. My mom (Christian) and I (Atheist) are Japanese, so we started discussing in front ot the two clearly Caucasian guys in Japanese that we’re both well off, and then one of them starts speaking in nearly impeccable Japanese to us. Ultimately, we turned it down, but it was pretty eye-opening for us that someone who’s obviously not Japanese speak our language with almost no discernible foreign accent and grammatical errors. Also, I was raised in a monotheistic (Christian) hosuehold, and I never drank coffee and alcohol (I just didn’t like their tastes) or smoked (hated the smell), so my friends often joked that I’m a Mormon.

Mercifully they let her drift back out in a couple of years when the Walk It Talk It Roll Tide Alabama Beat Georgia 2024 Shirt moreover I will buy this tenor of her delusions drifted away from what they considered appropriate. Dude at work says his parents converted when he was a teen to JW’s after a random door knocking. It didn’t happen after the first visit but eventually it happened. I think mainly they just indoctrinate their own kids… knocking on doors can’t be a very effective recruitment method. I live across the street from an older black woman and she will just sit out on her deck and put old soul music on and sing along. She has no idea how many times she’s lifted me out of a bad mood just walking outside and hearing her. I second this. Old ppl will never find anything like that awkward. She’ll think about it for the rest of the week 🙂

I think i will! I’m trying to push myself out of my comfort zone and get to know all my neighbors a little better anyways. I tend to keep to myself too much Living in the Walk It Talk It Roll Tide Alabama Beat Georgia 2024 Shirt moreover I will buy this south and I go to a specific grocery store in town because the black woman behind the meat counter says “what can I getchu baby”. And it cures my depression Was going to say this. I work with elderly folks and one of my clients said this to me right before walking out: “Gracias, mija que Diosito te bendiga” there’s this woman who directs traffic at this one crosswalk on this campus and every time someone thanks her she says “you’re welcome sweetheart, have a wonderful day” and it makes me so happy This one is actually so true tho. Just a few days ago I went to a hole in the wall bbq place and the owner was this older black lady and she served us the most delicious brisket I’ve ever eaten. Called me honey and stuff. She was so sweet One of my good friends was black, and any time that we would ride our bikes to his house his mom would make sure that I got fed regardless if I had already eaten or not. Amazing family. R.I.P. Geoff. You know the food is always good when they’re the older grandmas that got the flappy arms and the they be running around putting their foot all in the food it’s soooo good I’ve been to restaurants like this and the food is HOT DAMN AMAZING The best teachers I ever had were black women. I grew up in an all-white neighborhood full of a bunch of blue-collar bigots, but most of my school teachers were black ladies who commuted from other neighborhoods. They were some of the only black people I knew for a long stretch of my childhood. Aside from the fact that my parents weren’t racist, I also credit those teachers with opening my eyes at a very early age to the importance of judging people by their character and not being prejudice toward anyone because of their race or ethnicity. I had a lot of competing ideas being thrown at me by boyhood friends and their bigot parents, and I was able to quickly dismiss them all as ignorant morons because of my interactions with my amazing grade school teachers.

This is so cool! I grew up in the Walk It Talk It Roll Tide Alabama Beat Georgia 2024 Shirt moreover I will buy this opposite kind of school, as we had a mixed population, but mainly white teachers. Now, I teach at a school where a lot of the teachers are black, and I wish I’d had that. It’s so good for all the kids, white and black! They are absolutely phenomenal teachers, and our school has very, very few issues with racism. I do believe a big part of that is that the kids have both white and black teachers from a young age. being maternal and caring , especially older black women ( the black grandmamas who spoil their grand children / the older black women calling everyone honey and sweetheart ) and as a black woman who’s from louisiana i experienced this stereotype a Lot and have had it associated with myself as well
I have a vivid memory of when I worked at a theme park of an older black lady being reunited with her charge – somehow she embraced and smacked the Walk It Talk It Roll Tide Alabama Beat Georgia 2024 Shirt moreover I will buy this boy on the head for making her worry. I agree with the older black women being very caring. When I was about 10 I had walked down to walmart to buy even more stuff to try to deal with my hair. I’m a white person with the very kinky curly hair that black people have. I was standing in the aisle so frustrated not even knowing where to start. This was before internet was so easily accessible, so I couldn’t look up at home before leaving what I could look for to help. This older black woman, probably in her early 50’s came by and said she had the same problem and so do her kids. She spent about 10 minutes with me telling me what to look for in hair products and what combs to use and how to deal with it. She didn’t have to. This has been about 26 years now and I still adore that woman who didn’t have to help, but did.
All the Walk It Talk It Roll Tide Alabama Beat Georgia 2024 Shirt moreover I will buy this black women I have met are the most caring and uplifting people. I don’t know how they do it and I appreciate them so much. As a pasty old white guy, I have to say amazing skin. I’m frequently surprised how older black women look 10+ years younger than their actual age. They are the absolute BEST hype girls I’ve ever met. They always bring such a genuine energy and excitement, and honestly no matter how low I’m feeling if an Older black women tells me “Honey you’re gorgeous” I will immediately go from feeling like garbage to an absolute goddess I went on an excursion in Cancun with a group of sorority girls on a reunion and let me tell you, Vicky and her friends made that experience soooooo much better. They laughed at all their friends zip line shrieks and were shouting “Hoody hoo” anytime something happened on the quads. The bus ride home would’ve been real boring without their recaps too.
