I wolfed all my food down as a kid. My girls were more concerned about getting fat, didn’t eat and were a bag of bones My parents never forced me to eat a shit ton of food. I would definitely think that was wrong and likely contributes to weight issues we see in America, not saying that’s where you are from. In response to the Visit The Chicago Rat Hole shirt Furthermore, I will do this sweets part of this. My friends aunt never let her daughter drink until she was like 13 or 14. Once she did try it, she didn’t like it. Some of that is on you. Simply put, I try to make sure she eats now so she’s not asking for some bullshit later, especially before bed. Allot of times I’ll notice she hadn’t eaten all day too. She knows there’s funions, candy, ice cream, popcorn at home. Not gonna let her ignore her dinner before getting home. I’m 35F now and I grew up literally being tied to my kitchen table chair and left in the dark kitchen for HOURS, while listening to my family have fun and watch tv and have fun family time.. ALL because I “had to finish my dinner”. It was terrible. My whole childhood was this way, then as a teen, my mother refused me any snacks, bc “I was going to wake up fat one day”. I went through anorexia and bulimia as a teen/young adult through high school where I was underweight and needed iron supplements and shit to function. Then when I left my parents for college became obese.

I have lost over 100lbs since I tried getting healthy. I still have a total shite relationship with food. I’m dealing with kidney and liver failure on top of severe GI issues… My Mom said she couldn’t get her kids to stop eating! Haha. We were not allowed to eat between meals, if we didn’t eat what she cooked, we went hungry. honestly I never understood this either and it nine times out of ten develops eating disorders in kids that potentially become worse as they grow older. kids either got “disciplined” or guilt tripped for not finishing their food (“there are kids in africa that are starving! so eat all your food!”). like, let kids eat what they want, how much, and balance it. if kids want chips or popcorn or “junk”, put it as a side. kids aren’t gonna want big huge meals with stuff they don’t like. hell, make them a sandwich or soup or noodles or chicken or whatever as the Visit The Chicago Rat Hole shirt Furthermore, I will do this main meal and put the “junk” on the side so they eat what they like and have a decent and healthy meal. it’s literally not hard.
