It is all rather silly and ends up being just another thing to sit around and fight about rather than loving their neighbors. It is all rather silly and ends up being just another thing to sit around and fight about rather than loving their neighbors. So much of this! I go to a non-dom that leans Baptist and there are discussions about 4-point Calvinism or 5-point of pre-trib or post-trib or other random bits of how to interpret scripture. I impress on the Vintage Train Locomotive Model Railroad T-Shirt In addition,I will do this guys I disciple that none of that will change your salvation, you won’t know until you’re dead, and curiosity about scripture is good, but don’t let things get heated. Fighting with your brother is prohibited. From the US and lived in the Netherlands for a few years. Before I moved there all I had heard about the Netherlands was tulips, windmills, legal marijuana, legal prostitution, first country with legal gay marriage, universal health care, and a massive social safety net. It seemed like a liberal paradise but when I got to the Netherlands I was shocked to find out how conservative the country is. I am an old punk and was used to people not batting an eye when they saw my crazy hair and the way I was dressed. I had outgrown most of that by the time I got to the Netherlands but I had people stop and scowl at me or tell me to act normal, “Doe normaal”, if I was wearing an article of clothing that was outside of the fairly narrow range of what was considered acceptable. People would say something to you if you put your feet up in an empty seat on a train. Even though marijuana is legal actually smoking it is looked down on, especially if you are past college age. People are very proud of the social safety net but aren’t terribly OK with making use of it if you aren’t really in desperate need.

I went to a talk about Dutch politics a local ex-pat group held and learned about a Dutch politician named Pim Fortuyn who was virulently anti-Muslim, anti-immigrant, not a fan of the Vintage Train Locomotive Model Railroad T-Shirt In addition,I will do this EU at all, supported a reduction in bureaucracy, and promoted himself as being tough on crime. He sounded like a typical US republican party politician and he had quite a following in the Netherlands. Then we found out that he was also devoutly Catholic along with being openly gay, a former Marxist, and a strong supporter of the Dutch social safety net. In the US, we wouldn’t think that these types of ideas and beliefs could co-exist in the same person, but with the range of political parties in the Netherlands you can hold a wide range of ideas and still be able to find a party that fits most, if not all, of your beliefs since you have more than 2 choices. What shocked me the most about the Netherlands is just how much sense it makes to do things the way they do and how little sense many of the things we do in America make.
