A couple summers ago google maps sent me down a road and I had two thoughts; “Are you sure this is a road google?!” and “It’s like Bob’s Road.” Born and raised In Kansas. After the 1998 Madeline movie came out on pay per view, TV Guide Channel’s description literally just said rated PG for “one use of the word ‘damn'”, and the phrasing made me chuckle Was my first exposure to Phillip Seymour Hoffman and of course he steals each scene he is in even though he is barely in the movie at all. Well a younger me though the opening scene ( can’t recall if it was a cold open) quite scary. The rest was dramatic but less terrifying.

I worked at a movie theater and they always said I looked like Helen hunt or drew Barrymore. Wtf? I look like Lili sobieski. To be fair, as someone who was growing up in tornado alley when this movie came out, it scared the shit out of me The opening sequence with the parents rushing to get their kid out of bed … Had a bit of a flashback to getting woken up that way when I was little. I know what you mean. This movie was fucking huge in tornado alley. I remember the local movie theater made streamers look like tornadoes when attached to ceiling fans. Also, someone says “come on” in this movie about every 10 seconds and it gets really distracting once you notice it As I kid I loved this movie. The power of a relevantly small storm could have so much energy fascinated me. After living thru two kinda close calls myself and having friends and family effected in ways I don’t wish upon anyone. So my fear and respect for these storms is immense.
