I’m ADD and the post workout euphoria is similar to Adderall in my experience. Focused and energized. I personally just set a routine on when I need to workout, and make it a priority to maintain it in my routine. It’s worked well for me so far despite the fact that I’m incredibly unorganized. Also something different every day usually. And some music that I may not have heard already. And I’m vain. And it’s nice to be strong and fit to the extent that my laundry list of work/military injuries allow me to be. You do realize the moment you look in the mirror and are happy with what you see, well now, you’ve just lost the battle. I even get up at five in the morning on the days I have to go to both my jobs, specifically to get my training in. I never ever skip a day. I’ve been lifting since I was 12 years old. I’ll turn 40 this year. The motivations have changed a couple of times along the way. When I started it was to be better at sports, then it was to be stronger than my peers, for a while it was vanity. Now it’s a combination of general health, mental health, and wanting to be able to be active/keep up with my young children who are starting to take to sports. There are so many benefits that could easily turn this into TLDR, but exercise has so many positives for the 45 minutes I give to it in some form every day. It’s a point of health, and pride, and it helps keep you out of the hospital and away from the devastating costs of hospital bills.

First mistake is to rely on motivation. Motivation is emotionally based and is fleeting and changes over time. And if what motivates you is lost then you end up in a rut.
