This is extremely true. I take naps when I work from home but if I’m at work I usually waste that time on my phone or talking to people. It’s as if the Vietnam veteran us flag Vietnam war vet Vietnam veteran shirt In addition,I will do this motivation to work AND do a good job is driven by something other than a building with someone breathing down your neck at any second. ? This is why I spend most my life working graveyard. All work no bs. If there wasn’t work you went home or you just chilled because unlike day shift they don’t find bs to keep you there and you don’t deal with all the bs higher ups that don’t know or do shit but hover over you all day. Last job I worked was in oil and gas before I was severely injured. Took half the day to do paperwork and get permits for the job. We pushed for four-ten work week. They refused. If we worked a four-ten work week we would of gained eight hours of work time but no overtime was a much better thing and working weekends to get the job done. I find working in the office less productive because there’s people who come to your desk to distract you from your work.

I sometimes go in when I want to have more interaction, chat with people and get lunch together etc but when I want to get shit done, wfh it is. I don’t have kids, so I have almost zero interruptions unless you count people at work constantly talking to you on slack or asking to meet as a distraction. If I were in office, I’d constantly want to leave early, allow myself to get distracted by coworkers, get up and get stuck in conversations around the office, etc. I do think that remote work makes building work relationship way harder because you aren’t forced to interact with a group of people 40 hours a week, but it’s a fair trade off imo.
