Ended up having 3 cut out. Just here to give you my sympathy bc hoooooly sht that sucked. Yay! I can’t believe urgent care originally just gave you antibiotics and left you hanging. Looks so much less painful now Good that you have had treatment. I’ve read that infection on the face (boil, pimple, infected cyst etc.) can in rare cases, lead to a clot in the blood vessel in the brain (cavernous sinus thrombosis) which can be life-threatening. I work at a dermatology office- the ER did what any derm would do when cysts / abscesses are angry: I&D & abx until it’s controlled. And then when it’s in control, would have you come back for an excision. When it’s small again, they can likely “punch excise” like a cookie-cutter, take the sac out so it never returns, and only leave you with a small scar. Best of luck !!!! I had one in my mons pubis (TMI, I know) that got me admitted to hospital for 10 days for IV antibiotics. It wasn’t ready to drain when I went in so they didn’t want to send me home in fear that it could continue to spread and compromise my abdominal wall. Walking was SOOOOO painful because it would freaking jiggle which every step. If I bumped somewhere I would start feeling faint and seeing spots. I had a horrible fever, I was miserable I’m so glad it’s on the mend! It already looks soooo much better, and I’m betting you’re already feeling better. Be sure to take all your meds!
