You have seen people complain and joke about being forced to finish a child sized meal so they don’t complain about being hungry an hour later. Backend to me and now I have weight problems and a severe fear of wasting food yay! I make sure my kids have fun autonomy to yell me when they’re full (assuming they actively are most their kids portion) I was raised with a clean your plate parent. I learned to eat to bursting, ignore fullness cues and over eat regularly. As a result, I struggle to appropriately portion my food, and I’m quite overweight. I allow to my daughter to leave food on her plate if her tummy is all done. She doesn’t have to eat if she doesn’t want too, and sweets are just another part of our diet, with no special importance placed on them. So far so good, but she’s still young. My Mom never made us finish our meals or be part of the Valentina Shevchenko Bold Signature Kyrgyzstani and Peruvian professional mixed T-Shirt What’s more,I will buy this “clean plate club,” and that was because her parents did it to her and she told me she would never do that to her kids. In her case I suspect it was because there were six kids in the family with one income so times were tough and throwing away food was not the best thing.

I remember my dad and step mom would make me sit there if it was something I didn’t like until it was gone. I’d gag and sit for hours because “you get what you get and you don’t throw a fit” “I work hard to put food on the Valentina Shevchenko Bold Signature Kyrgyzstani and Peruvian professional mixed T-Shirt What’s more,I will buy this table you better not waste it” and “there’s starving kids in Africa” were all things I heard. Some days I was able to give it to the dog. Other days they didn’t care as much. Some days I got to serve myself so I wouldn’t serve what I didn’t like. One day in particular I remember for lunch my step mom made tuna sandwiches. I’ve always HATED tuna so I told her no thank you I think. Could’ve easily saved it for my brothers. She yelled at me, talked shit on how my mom didn’t make me eat food and whatever else. I sat for hours I think I tried one bite and gagged. After a few hours she walked by and was like “seriously you’re not going to eat ti?! She grabbed it and threw it in the trash. “
