I feed them 4x a day, and weigh out the food. I have alarms set for 8am, 1pm, 6pm, and 11pm and they know when my phone sounds like birds, it’s food time. Currently only giving them dry so I add water but they always have water available in a bowl also. I’m gonna start adding some wet food to one meal per day as soon as I get my Chewy delivery though. They also get treats after brushies. I leave food out for my cat for him to eat when he wants to, but I keep track of how much he eats. He likes to eat at certain times during the day and night, but he doesn’t eat much at a time and he also likes to snack some, so I make sure he has food for when he decides to go eat. But I make sure he isn’t eating too much and if he isn’t eating enough, I sometimes try to get him to eat or if he won’t go for kibble, I have some wet food and other supplemental things like frozen boiled turkey(no seasoning, just boiled in water and frozen for later usage) to give him to make sure he eats enough. I also actually often supplement with the turkey as well as some cat-friendly vegetables like peas, green beans, sweet potato, and pumpkin just to give him some variety and some extra nutrients. The pumpkin is also good for when he’s got an upset stomach since it’s really good for that and he loves it.

I feed dry kibble at bedtime and use it as a lure to confine cat to a room with a solid surface floor. Doing this keeps hair and occasional barf in that easy-to-clean area.
