Sure, ugly people in the Uss Sulaco Weyland Yutani Corp Ugly Xmas shirt Furthermore, I will do this 90s-00s were probably getting the same or fewer dates than ugly people do now, but average and attractive ones were killing it. Online-dating was effectively non-existant and dating-agencies (that era’s equivalent of online dating) was viewed as a thing that loner weirdos did. Hardly anyone used it in their 20s-30s in that decade, and most didn’t even start using it until the mid-2010s. The dating scene was almost entirely real-world and the options (whilst smaller in reach) were easier to find. I know what you mean but Chandler is anything but terrible with women. He picks up gorgeous girl after gorgeous girl. Holds down a flawed, but clearly loving, relationship with Janice. Same with Cathy until she cheats on him (which seems more to do with her than with him). Marries and has a very healthy relationship with Monica. Ross is a bad partner that manages to sustain relationships longer than he should despite being bad with women. I think those are pretty realistic since Joey is a nice and handsome man but is mentally vacant and understimulating for someone to take as a long term partner. Ross is a bit of an “I can change him” guy who is a good long term prospect on paper (good looking, intelligent, successful) but not great in practice when his insecurities inevitably come out. Many people like that exist in real life, so I think the show did a pretty good job with those two.
