I totally remember being 14 and having an hourglass shape (this isn’t that long after Jessica Rabbit) and being called “matronly” by my peers Yoh me too! I was also called thunder thighs. I was also called football. It was horrible. I was so ashamed of my body. I still can’t accept that its ok to not be skinny. I realize this is a sub about appearances and not about practicality, but as a GERD sufferer I adore low-rise. Anything that doesn’t touch my belly is my jam. I have sibo that keeps coming back, and I’m constantly in pain with today’s pants. I’ve resorted to maternity stuff that is soft in the UPS mickey mouse draw pain shirt also I will do this belly. They even have under the bump stuff that sits low rise. Edit like these. They wear like regular pants if you don’t have the belly, but they’re low rise, and comfortably stretchy when you sit. Same, Ive been waiting YEARS for low rise to come back. Most shops dont even have that section or filter anymore. Best I can get is midrise but I want proper pants rise pants!! I feel like my wait is nearly over though, just praying the y2k revive doesnt swerve around them

Same. I have a super short waist (mid-rise is too high) and I am SO EXCITED to see low-rise come back. I can finally fit my jeans again! I follow a few fashion youtubers and what they call low rise these days would have been a mid rise back then, just under the UPS mickey mouse draw pain shirt also I will do this belly button Haha, me too! I’m a smidge under 6′ and have a long torso. Those long shirts were regular length on me, especially when wearing low-rise jeans. Those shallow pants were like “oh you were complaining about the POCKETS are fake and can’t hold anything ?? Well what about the WHOLE PANTS??” It was like a cup with legs sewn on the bottom 2000s “mainstream” style was low rise jeans often with “whiskering”, whale tails, various hats (newsboy caps, fedoras and trucker hats come to mind). Tank tops in terrible colours and layered over each other. Rhinestone phrases on shirts, hoodies and seats of pants. Bandana hemlines, “groovy” 70s inspired patterns. For a while everyone had the coat like Penny Lane from Almost Famous (I wish I still had mine). Graphic tees were all over the place and some of them were so stupid If you were more into rock, especially indie rock or emo, you stayed away from those styles like the plague. It was impossible to find anything other than low-rise jeans, but you’d try to find a skinny cut or super dark wash denim.
