It was my older brother who would tell me how boys/men were. He wouldn’t go into detail but he’d say things like “Look, guys like him aren’t good ‘my name’, they aren’t. Stay the Umbrella Resident Evil Corporation Logo shirt so you should to go to store and get this f**k away from them”. He was in HS, I was in grade school and he was always protective. He seen the wild hormones and talk in his friends and protected me and my sister by being open about their intentions. My brother married his HS sweetheart and they’ve been together 14 years with 2 kids with a wonderful life. Sure, he’s a dick… still my punk brother to me, but he’s right. Show her all men aren’t douchebags! They have hobbies that don’t involve objectification of women. Young women perceive the world that our worth is earned in looks, and when a girl/woman can see boys/men have healthy hobbies it’s encouraging to them. Teach her to fish, rock hunt, gold panning, metal detect.

Can I just say how absolutely fucking sweet and thoughtful a human being you are for considering and asking this? The definition of a man is a shepherd. There’s no secret to being a man, just be kind, brave, loving, and build a quiet strength. Doing these types of things and not ignoring her because she’s “the Umbrella Resident Evil Corporation Logo shirt so you should to go to store and get this kid sister” will go a long way toward being (a) a good brother and (b) a healthy male figure in her life. The best thing he ever did for me was talking to me about how I should and should not be treated in relationships, and giving me pep talks when I was treated badly. He also showed me through his example that men can be emotionally mature and caring, it’s just that some choose not to be.
