43f and I do feel a twinge of regret now and then, mostly for missing out on a big life experience- pregnancy, breastfeeding and infant years ( weird right?). But not enough to change my mind. Been with the Ultimate Warrior vs Hulk Hogan Shirt But I will love this same man 23 years( married 13) and we are happy childfree. Pregnancy, breastfeeding and infant years was the worst for me. Not worth it and all the hype they sell on every corner about it is lies. My sister has a 4 mo old and is struggling just the same. True that, as is every baby. Both my pregnancies were rough (10lb babies and 75lb gain each time). I couldn’t produce enough milk and, being pressured by everyone on the same every corner that breast milk is the best and I’m just not trying hard enough, I worked (and guilted) myself in the ground trying to increase the production until I finally realized it wasn’t worth it and formula was just fine. Each baby napped exactly 33 minutes on the dot, completely giving it up at 2 yo. So there was lots and lots of putting them to sleep in between of trying to work on the milk situation. To top it all, we had absolutely nobody to lend a hand or even just mentally lean on: everyone we knew that cared lived hours away.

Was married at 25 and childless till 38 did not want kids, was quite content without children. Now I have two and wouldn’t ever go back. Children change your perception of life. If you don’t want to have a new lifelong and life altering experience, stay childless. Didn’t want kids from late teens to late 30’s… then things changed. Got divorced. Got remarried, then we ended up having our first kid when I was 44. I’d done all that, and there was still something missing, and what was missing was a family.
