I’m all for raising awareness, but you don’t do that by hijacking a space that is focused specifically on women’s issues. Please, create other threads. Make spaces where men’s issues take front and center. I’m not trying to take away from the Tweedle My Singing Monsters Owl Shirt in addition I really love this very real problems men also face. But at the same time, if I see one of those threads, I’m not going to leave comments like, “Women have it soooo much worse, why are you complaining about this?” That would be totally wrong, and I’d be an asshole for it. This isn’t a space focused specifically on women’s issues, this is r/FunnyandSad. Also, as next to nobody cares about such stuff, nobody searches on their own. There are different subreddits/threads for such topics, but they usually get Ad hominem‘d until you will (this is not a joke) get permabanned from subreddits for simply being on them.

And I think it’s also fitting to make that point here, as the Tweedle My Singing Monsters Owl Shirt in addition I really love this post makes for a view that’s extremely one-sided. Saying women do these too isn’t trying to take away from anything, but when society doesn’t really allow for you to be a victim, but also avoids or denies what’s happening to you, then this has to be the way. I could rifle off a bunch of ways evil women take advantage of men but why bother? What will that solve. I would be called an incel or a misogynist but if a woman does it she should be praised? And I hope in the future women own up to their mistakes so we can all come together and solve these problems instead of blaming the other side like a bunch of children. we live in a rape-prone culture that propagates messages that victims are to blame for the assault, that they caused it and indeed deserve it (Buchwald, Fletcher, & Roth, 1993; Burt, 1998; Lonsway & Fitzgerald, 1994; Sandy, 1998).
