I’d probably say “If I have to wait 12 minutes every time your generation writes a check you can wait 32 seconds for me to fix this” then again I’ve also responded to an old lady asking if she could cut in line because she’s old and doesn’t have as long to live as me. With “and if we both die tomorrow who had the Tupac Shakur Did U Hear About The Rose Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this longer life?” There have been times, when I’m not in a hurry I’ll follow it up by offering to let them cut in line so I can continue poking holes in their reasoning continue the conversation. I’ve followed it up with “hell you could die tomorrow and I could live 10 more years and you’d still have had a longer life than me.” I once tried following it up with “how’d you know I don’t have a terminal illness?” But it didn’t flow of the tongue, I felt kind if bad appropriating terminal illnesses that way, and most of all didn’t want to risk finding out they or someone they knew has a terminal illness and feeling obligated to talk about it. Not as often since I moved, and got a job during the day so my shopping was no longer in the morning. I used to live in an area with lots of old people.

9 times out of 10 Apple Pay is faster than pushing the Tupac Shakur Did U Hear About The Rose Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this card into the reader, or even worse paying with cash or a check. The absolute worst is getting stuck behind someone using EBT/SNAP and them finding out random things they’re buying don’t qualify for the program which stats a whole ordeal of shifting stuff around and then multiple transactions with different methods of payment. I know I hate when people strugling to feed themselves slightly inconvenience me. The worst is getting gas and being stuck behind someone with a thousand scratch tickets. It’s always goddam Ingenico card readers that have issues too. Specifically the lane/7000 ALWAYS fails to read my Apple Pay on the first try. Verifone card readers are solid though, never had a problem with one of those.
