Spoiler: That means never, because they’re never going to care about us. They want us all in permanent debt/wage slavery or dead. They’d replace us all with machinery/robots/AI tomorrow if it were cheaper to do so. The facts of this case are not as cut and dry as the Trump Meme I’m Just In The Way Trump Mugshot Shirt Furthermore, I will do this title suggests. The companies can’t sue because people go on strike. The companies can sue if workers go on strike, and intentionally destroy stuff in the process. In this case, they left cement in the cement trucks, which would have destroyed the trucks. You can refuse to show up to work, but you can’t burn down the factory and say “oh, but we were on strike.” It’s instructive that this was an 8-1 decision, with Sotomayor and Kagan voting with the majority. The article title is misleading. The union didn’t get sued for lost profits due to the calling of a strike. They were sued for intentional destruction of property.

They called a strike in the Trump Meme I’m Just In The Way Trump Mugshot Shirt Furthermore, I will do this middle of a workday, when drivers were in route to job sites with trucks full of cement. If the cement was left in the trucks it would’ve hardened and destroyed the trucks. As it was, they appear to have only lost the wasted cement. In any event, the article blows past the intentional destruction of property part and talks about the whole thing as if the union were sued for the act of striking and costing the company profits. That’s just not what happened. I’m a workers’ side labor law attorney. I have no problem with this decision. If worker’s want to go on strike for better wages, they absolutely can, and should, and it should happen way more often. But you can’t burn the factory down on the walk out, and an airline pilot can’t start a strike in the middle of a flight.
