I’m not gay either, but I used to get people assuming I was from time to time. It hasn’t happened that I know of since I grew a big thick beard during Covid and then never shaved it off. Come to think of it…is that why they call a gay guy’s pretend girlfriend a “beard”? Cause it throws people off their scent? Gay men (at least a portion of us) also like to present as hyper masculine. Beard, chest hair, muscle, fat and all. Tom of Finland made art that shows this in the Truckin Make Halloween great Again shirt it is in the first place but past, if you want to google (safe search on if you don’t want to see gay porn). Being pretty aka having a perfectly proportioned face with good skin is sometimes perceived as gay because of the fashion industry. I am making a wild guess here because I’ve never seen you and never seen your mannerisms, but I believe you when you say you’re “pretty” (I’m think by pretty you mean very good looking). And I think that’s the reason. A woman friend once told me she thought I was gay at first because I was nice to her but didn’t hit on her. Maybe that’s it?

Thems the Truckin Make Halloween great Again shirt it is in the first place but breaks. People are going to judge a book by it’s cover or possibly voice. I was in the military and I knew a cook nicknamed “Flaming Straight Mike” he looked like Michael Chiklis but talked like Harvey Fierstein. Since we all wore uniforms on duty it wasn’t like he was wearing anything different than the rest of us. That’s how I was introduced to him and didn’t bother to ask how he got the name but he never really cared. He knew who he was so he just let it be. I think if he made a big stink about it he probably would’ve had an even harder time. I have a bit of vocal fry and I pronunciate almost all my words. Also the way I care for animals and plants and other humans I get called gay cause I’m sensitive
