I’m Czech and I’ve never seen such a situation before, here it’s like 1 or 2 stray carts tops, and these are still inside the Top riddickart X Worm ‘Bluenothing’ shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this store and just get taken by the people coming in. So don’t worry, at least you have places to move to once the collapse is done, I guess? Although we also have some quirks that I feel similar about. (And maybe it’s because we have to put a small coin in to unlock it, now that I’m thinking about it, no idea if this is what you do in the USA?) I’m Swedish and we also have the same coin system for most of our carts. At least for carts that are kept outside. There’s usually only a few strays here, too. I used to live in a “bad neighborhood” before and many of those people would bring the carts home with them and then just leave them out in the courtyard. At any given time there were like a dozen carts from stores miles away just spread around all over the place. But that’s as bad as I have ever seen it here. Now that you’re talking about it, we have such a neighborhood too in our city, so that seems to be universal. Can’t imagine a situation like this though, not even there, seems like the end of the world lol. I feel like the coin system helps, even if people wouldn’t return them, some homeless person would probably collect the stray ones and be happy for the coins, with this amount of carts you could probably get at least a nice snack for that money.

Because People are fucking lazy and they want to make the Top riddickart X Worm ‘Bluenothing’ shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this lot person’s job harder then it needs to be( it not a easy job and often comes with other things to do, at least for me), I work retail( parking lot) and wow customers can literally learn a thing about common sense. I always park my truck near a cart corral when shopping there as it’s the farthest you can get from all of the loose carts Where I live (Europe) how we deal with this is that you have to put a small coin into the cart when you take it out of the pile. You get it back when you bring the cart back. You can put multiple coin types (even popular foreign currency nowadays) so you should always have a viable coin with you. And if you really don’t have one, a customer service desk or cashiers usually carry plastic tokens that you can use instead. I don’t think I have ever seen a cart left out on a parking lot. Worst case scenario is a random passerby wilk bring it back to get some free change. You expect anything less at Wallyworld, home of PJ shopping, grab and go theft, open food and drinks in the aisles. Surely you jest.
