Indie musician Claud Mintz, who performs under the Top Merry Christmas Wanker Ugly Xmas Sweater coach soccer T-Shirt and I love this name Claud, gives the bedroom-pop sound a decidedly queer edge, with songs like “Wish You Were Gay” functioning as de facto anthems for lazing around and drinking coffee with your crush (or, perhaps more accurately, drinking coffee alone while you yearn). Their music is alternately wistful and witty, featuring breakup-adjacent lyrics like “You like drinking and then taking things apart,” and “Call your phone you never answer/ Missing out on endless banter.”
