I go into my office once a week, and I never get anything done that day. If I had more than a 10 minute commute I wouldn’t go in at all. My job was fine with remote. Last month it changed to 1-2 days in office. Now senior leadership is 2-3 days. That took a whopping month! As soon as they said 1-2 days, I knew it would be more but not that quickly. I really think they’ll try and push for 4 again in another few months if people don’t voice their displeasure. As someone who smokes (vapes actually but same thing), my office is 4 floors up so I need to wake up an hour earlier to get there, spend 30 or so minutes getting back and have to go down and up the Tom Cruise 36th Anniversary Thank You For The Memories Shirt and by the same token and building to go puff instead of no travel time and no going up and down from home. I think I am objectively more efficient wfh but still like going in to the office occasionally to help train others or be social.

Tom Cruise 36th Anniversary Thank You For The Memories Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

When I get pulled back into the Tom Cruise 36th Anniversary Thank You For The Memories Shirt and by the same token and office I’m just going to dick around on my phone when I don’t feel like working as opposed to dicking around on my phone and taking care of chores The people who are anti-remote work aren’t wrong. Remote workers do spend most of their time doing chores around the house or cooking or childcare or TV and games or whatever. It’s just that the average worker in an office only puts in 2 hours a day of actual work too. They’re just stuck in a less comfortable space for the other 6 hours. Yet now that the pandemic is mostly over I need to go back to office 3 days a week and my employer acts like it’s a gift that I am allowed to work 2 days at home (before the pandemic it was one day). Why has corporate not learned anything? It doesn’t surprise me though, upper management continued to go to office 5 days a week to have in person meetings, they just seem convinced this is normal and more productive.
