Absolutely. Why shouldn’t they? We’re not talking about taking care of the Tiny Bird Gojo and Big Dog Fushiguro T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this helpless and disenfranchised (Medicaid), we’re not even talking about providing for seniors so that they can enjoy their golden years (Medicare — And that is RIFE with generational imbalance issues all on its own), we’re talking about people who took on debt and a RISK in order to improve their lives. Does that mean some people who were struggling and looking for a way out get burned? Yep. And that sucks. Does it also mean a golden parachute for plenty of people that can absolutely afford their life decision and would vastly benefit off the backs’ and work of people without those advantages? Also, yep! Tell you what. Give me a date. Tell the the EXACT day that you’re going to blanket absolve people of student loan debt and by THAT date I will sign up for a post-grad degree, ask them to bill me in FULL, and wait. I’ve been accepted to multiple degree programs but every time I said, “Those loans will prevent me from XYZ and aren’t tenable.” Until that happens, you’re once again fixing a system designed for profit (i.e. all universities) at the expense of the student. And NOW every other taxpayer in existence.

This is my dad’s reason for not supporting student loan forgiveness. He said it’s “unfair to people who did the Tiny Bird Gojo and Big Dog Fushiguro T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this right thing”. Yea but I didn’t go to school and got a full time job as an electrical worker because I didn’t want to go into debt. If I had known then I would of pursued medical school if it was going to be free. Obviously I’m not saying that’s the only reason I didn’t go but… IF I had know I wouldnt have to pay off my 100,000 dollars or more in school debt then that would have changed everything for me . What about the people who paid off all their loans last month? Now they have to pay more in taxes to pay off somebody else’s school ? This is a tough subject for sure. We need more communication for this and clear guidelines on who would get their loans forgiven. As a homeowner I will directly benefit from this. Pretty much every dollar of student loan forgiveness will directly elevate home prices further. Also loan forgiveness without cost reform is stupid. Universities need to be punished for their insane cost creep. A perfect reason not to do this when home prices are already out of reach for most people that don’t own a home.
