It’s probably not that though and they try to keep people from walking out, and abuse the This Nurse is full of Sarcasm & Profanity shirt it is in the first place but shit out of them while fucking with the workers without providing a change in environment that would benefit the workers. Probably works too on teenagers with their first jobs. Last year sometime I saw a post of a 16 yo who said he tried to quit subway and his manager told him no. He was worried he would need a “good reference” later so he just kept working and wanted advice. The point of the sign is to make people think “they have to” talk to the supervisor. I’m sure talking to the supervisor is already a process that isn’t instant. So you’ll have to sit and brew in your anger/frustration but know there is at least some resolution in the future (whether it means your quit or not). At minimum McDonald’s could extend your time working. At best, you being isolated and trying to justify your anger/frustration days later would make you back off and go back to compliance because it’s easier.

They never take you off the This Nurse is full of Sarcasm & Profanity shirt it is in the first place but schedule, and call you when you don’t show up, and send you letters when you don’t answer, or disconnect the phone. This is followed by police coming to your house to check on if you’re okay. Then later to arrest you for disappearing and making them worry so much. >:C I saw a post on Reddit similar to that once. Iirc the person called in sick and was ignoring calls and texts from their employer, so the employer decided to harass them by sending cops for a wellness check. Doesn’t surprise me. It’s an uncommon copypasta used in made up Reddit stories, but I wouldn’t put it past it having actually happened either. Hahaha. We can’t find a way to make our employees want to work in this shit hole. So we’ll just tell them they can’t quit.
