Credit to the This Is My Fight Shirt Take Back My Life Multiple Sclerosis Awareness shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this Germans for owning their past. Almost every other country completely white washes their bad history. There is a trend in society of thinking we learn too much about the Holocaust. I think, if anything, we don’t learn about it enough. The sheer scale of what happened. It’s almost taken a mythic, semi-real state. It’s like a fantasy, an Orwellian fiction we refer to saying don’t let it get like this. Before the Nazis came, there were 3 million Jewish people in Poland. After they left, there were just under 200,000 left. The gas chambers at Auschwitz were capable of ‘processing’ 2000 people an hour. On more than one occasion, the guards ran out of Zyklon and fed Jewish children to the furnaces while they were still alive. These things actually happened. We would be fools to pretend that we are not capable of making them happen again.

The Holocaust is one of those events where I’ve heard and read a lot of horrific first hand accounts, and then I’ll learn about a new one that’s even more horrific. It was an abyss of human misery It never really stops. Just when you think you found the This Is My Fight Shirt Take Back My Life Multiple Sclerosis Awareness shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this bottom depths of human depravity, some even more inventively evil person comes along and shows you… nope, it gets worse. EDIT: u/peace_love17 — thanks for your response. The callousness and horror of the Einsatzgrueppen is indeed underdiscussed. Under discussed fact about the Holocaust, not to get too gruesome, but most of the deaths and killings were not in the concentration camps or gas chambers, but squads of men going town by town and shooting everyone individually.
