Pretty sure Square doesn’t make customer credit card info available to the Third Ear Bon Bon Vivant shirt it is in the first place but “merchants,” it shows customer name, card brand and the last 4 digits on the card in merchant statements but that’s it. I am, but this is also a common misconception people have of legitimate PCI providers like Square and PayPal. They don’t make payment card information available to the merchant if it’s a legit service. In fact, most of the time contact information isn’t even available, which is frustrating some times when you need to get a hold of customers and can’t. So I hear this all the time working with PCI in IT from people who are afraid of legit systems too, not just about the sketchy guy hanging around outside the 7/11. That’s a boast he never would have honored. Anyway, my cousin will always offer them some “real” help in terms of getting them checked into a rehab clinic or homeless shelter, knowing full well that’s not what they want. I think he would do it if they wanted it, but I don’t think he has had anyone take him up on it. I’m sober and low income, and if my landlord sold my place or I missed one check, I would be homeless. I think most of us are one paycheck away from homelessness. There’s no way I could afford another place with the price of rent right now. Most places cost more than I make in a month after taxes.
