I joined the military for my college education, went to Afghanistan… Should I be offended? I don’t feel offended if student loans get paid back… We literally paid off our last student loan last month and I absolutely support student loan forgiveness. What value does this provide though? It doesn’t solve the root cause. It’s a bail out for a narrow group of Americans at a time when inflation is already plaguing our nation. I don’t get it. There is no debt cancellation. There is only debt transfer. Unless, of course, they want to destroy the credit rating of the United States and with it our entire financial system. So, since most debt is owned by people with graduate degrees, this will be a transfer of wealth from people who directly benefited from their loan to all the people who only benefited tangentially.
