Everytime we are at the There is no we here shirt Also,I will get this grocery store and my wife says no to the cashier to donate, I lean into her ear and say “can you just repeat that into the microphone please” lmao I read a story of some guy who was frustrated with getting asked to donate money every time he went to get groceries or other donation stations in everyday general need stores. Grocery store specifically, same for myself with this one method they do. They have donation boxes past the registers after you buy groceries to donate to the needy. Like, I’m buying food for myself to survive this week and they want me to drop off my food that I worked for. Anyways, this guy when he saw the donation bins. He put his groceries down. Walked past the register back to the shelves. Grabbed a bunch of canned food and assorted stuff and just walked through the checkout line and dropped them in the bin. He was then approached by staff and eventually the manager that he could not do that. Thats stealing. Ive worked at a grocery store. Its not considered stealing until it has left the property. Which this food did not. This hero then said to the manager “I didn’t steal it as it hasn’t left the property. Why should I donate the food I purchased for myself. When the shelves are stocked full and the store can claim it on taxes if they donate it.” Then he walked out. There is probably more to this story, or could have been made up by the author. Either way, I agree with what he did.

I’m literally stuck on my couch sick af with Covid after just getting over the There is no we here shirt Also,I will get this flu, I’ve truly been out of work for over 2 weeks and am relatively miserable and tired of being sick, and you made me physically lol. It’s been awhile. Thanks. I don’t mind the idea of rounding up to the next dollar as a donation, but the problem I have is we know the world is full of “charities/non-profits” that spend most of their donations on salaries and other areas besides what they claim they’re dedicated to. Just want to plug GiveWell which is an awesome organization that investigates chairities to find the most effective ones. Very large increase in human well-being for relatively little cost, and every little bit absolutely counts. The fact that other greedy rich people are assholes does not make your donation or volunteer effort or charitable cause any less important.
