People change all the The Spirited Away Of Cute Shirt but in fact I love this time, and while it is possible to deal with a friend changing, even drastically, and staying friends – if you are in a group of like 6 people where everyone changed over the years a lot, the chance of it staying together is super low. They exist.. I’m happy to be in one extended group (it’s really a lot of overlapping circles). Mondays – bar trivia, Tuesday – run 5k, Wednesday – rest your liver, Thursday – volleyball. Fri-Sun are wildcards (went to a show this Friday and then camping Saturday/Sunday). I was invited to HH by a coworker some ten years ago and through them met their friends and their friend’s friends. All of these friends started out as activity based friends (drinking, sports), but have now turned into actual friends. You gotta get out there and meet people!

Early 20s I bar hopped with fellow work friends. But life gets in the The Spirited Away Of Cute Shirt but in fact I love this way. My classes were different days than their classes and if you turn someone down a couple of times they just write you off and stop asking. Almost 40 and I just don’t have the time or patience for peoples drama. In theory it seems like a great idea but it never works out that way. A few years ago I was smoking a cigarette in front of an Applebee’s at 1am on a Wednesday night and bullshitting with a couple. We all quickly realized that basically everyone there was recently single, which is why we were drinking at Applebee’s in the middle of the night in the middle of the week 🤣 I have a tight friend group that chats daily and is there for the important stuff, but it’s unfortunately not realistic to get everyone together even every weekend much less daily, other than maybe if you’re living in college dorms or something. Other relationships and responsibilities tend to get in the way of seeing your 5 besties every single day – someone has to work and someone has their boyfriends’ cousins’ birthday and someone else has tickets to a concert with their other friend… it’s a lot to get five 20-something adults to organize the same free afternoon lol.
