There are quite a few military veterans in the The Ravens 27th anniversary 1996-2023 thank you for the memories signatures shirt in contrast I will get this world, and a fair number if us have, unfortunately, been injured by gunfire. my dad ( a real royal moron ) shot himself accidentally through the foot, always told me it felt like a hot metal rod was shoved into his foot. dumb*** I took a 7.62 to the stomach in Afghanistan. Felt like somebody had smacked with like, I dunno, a flyswatter or something. A short sharp smack. Didn’t feel much until I tried to come out of cover and I just…… couldn’t. Couldn’t make my body listen to me. Then the pin hit. I’d put it at like, I dunno, an 11/10. Bullet blew off half my liver. The bright side… if you make it to the ER at the hospital with a gunshot wound and you’re still breathing, you have basically guaranteed that you’ll live, no matter what. The patient loss rate for gunshot wounds as long they come in with a heartbeat is in the single tenths of a percent.

I’ve heard this too. Makes sense since alot of people who dont make it to the The Ravens 27th anniversary 1996-2023 thank you for the memories signatures shirt in contrast I will get this hospital probably just bleed out alone, while others are able to call quickly. Got hit by a 9mm fragment ricochet at a 3 gun match when someone was shooting a steel plate. Nearly a 180 degree ricochet. It lost a lot of energy after breaking up on the plate. It hit my thumb and felt like a hard slap. No damage, but I could feel it for a few minutes after. Wear your eye and ear protection, even if you are standing behind the person shooting. I’ve gotten hit by so many bullet fragments coming off steel plates at matches. Only once did it actually break the skin slightly. Wow! One I can finally answer! So, a little more than a decade ago I was shot in the calf, point blank from slug from a shotgun. I was at a friend’s house, with another friend of his, who was apparently toying with a gun he didn’t think was loaded. It was a loud gun in a small basement, and I was sitting down in a chair already, so I didn’t get knocked down, but immediately it felt like those moments in video games where a flashbang goes off, just instant sensory disorientation. The following all happened in just moments, but I was in such a hightened state of perception from the adrenaline that it all felt like slow motion over the course of 30 whole seconds: I knew something was wrong, but I didn’t know what, and my brain wasn’t giving me any specific information, so I looked over to where the noise came from and I see the guy with a horrifyed look on his face while holding a smoking shotgun (I could even perceive and register the smoke in this instant, brains are wild) this seemed bad, so I looked down at myself to see if I was shot, but I looked fine, and then I leaned forward and looked at my leg, and there was just a big, bloody wound where my calf used to be. Then everything sorta clicked at once what had happened, and like Wily E Coyote, as soon as I realized, that’s when I first felt the actual pain that my brain was hiding from me, and that’s when the screaming and swearing began.
