Credit cards with good rewards are a scam on the The Original Gangsters shirt but in fact I love this merchants. Different credit cards might charge merchants different rates for charging the card, and usually these cards with good rewards have higher fees (e.g. 4% vs 2%). Most merchants won’t actively refuse those cards (though, some do), so basically they’re just forced to pay whatever fees your card charges, and don’t have much negotiation power in the matter. The rewards incentivize you to use the card profusely and charge the hell out of it. So you’re basically ripping off all of these merchants because you are getting some fractional cut of what you’re robbing them of. And, since merchants are losing money due to your card, they end-up raising prices of their merchandise.

App notifications are getting to be kind of a scam. You turn them on so that you’re aware of when someone messages you on social media or a dating site; you don’t want to miss that. But you customize the The Original Gangsters shirt but in fact I love this notifications so that you don’t get notifications for irrelevant things that you don’t care about, like a tweet reply or whatever. And then the app will still send you notifications that are in some Other category that wasn’t on the settings menu. So you’ll get a Tinder notification saying there’s a swiping surge right now, or save 30% on premium membership, and ultimately it’s just to keep you checking your phone, keep you engaging with the app and reminding you that it exists, even though nobody messaged you, and you set it up to only notify you if you got a message. Similarly, the notification badge on the Facebook app will often say you have 1 notification, and then you log-in and check your notifications and there’s nothing under there. It’s just like a fake notification to get you to open the app so that you’ll hopefully engage with it once you have it open.
