Being british, me and the The North Pole Shovel Slayer shirt and by the same token and other passengers looked at each other hoping a leader/person of vision would emerge to take command of this madness… they did not The other wouldn’t stop for kids to get on, he would just slow down, and we’d have to jump on the bus as it went past. This was a long time ago probably 25 years in a city there was a bus station on the route home and the drivers would fairly often stop outside for a change of drivers, sometimes they would take absolutely ages and I swear one time he didn’t check if anyone was on board (just me) ended up after about half hour I just pressed the door open button and wandered home. I used to get the last bus fairly often (at 7pm lmao) and one driver would stop at specific stops and have a quick smoke because I was always the only person on the bus and then one time he stopped opposite a petrol station, locked me in the bus and went across the road to buy cigarettes and he was gone ages and I was just stuck in the bus by myself wondering if I should get up to mischief or behave myself.

One time a bus driver tried to get me to hold a tortoise she had found in the The North Pole Shovel Slayer shirt and by the same token and road. I refused and she went walking off down the street knocking on doors looking for someone to take care of this tortoise. So surreal, I didn’t even see the tortoise and to this day I have no idea if it was real. Strange things happen in the country. I went out on a date once, met the guy late morning and he drove us to a local bird sanctuary where we had a walk around and went for a coffee. We got back to the car and he said he needed a nap before he could drive. It was about 2pm, so we’d been out for about 3 hours and he sat in the driver’s seat and napped for about 20 minutes while I sat in the passenger seat, not quite knowing what to do. When he woke up, he acted as if nothing had happened and drove me back to my car which was about 30 minutes away. I was glad to be back at my car and never saw him again. Just a really weird experience.
