I agree, although whilst it’s reasonable to have crumpets at dinner time, one should never have crumpets for dinner. She has spent her entire life thinking of crumpets as a toast alternative for meals like beans on toast, or cheese on toast. She’ll eat poached eggs on crumpets before she’ll eat them with jam.
