Dave Ramsey runs a cult that revolves around cutting spending in your life so you can redirect it to parasitic religious institutions instead of spending it on yourself. Not only is he hateful, but this advice isn’t good. But because he markets himself to idiot christians, they eat it up and defend him to the death.

Listening to a conservative Christian radio host’s advice will always leave you broke, tired, sick, and hoping that Jesus will come down and save you from that misery. I’m not so sure. His status as a self-proclaimed “financial guru” might put him in a special status that gets him in trouble. I’m not sure why this company is shady… I really don’t care… I’m not in this world. Pay off low interest debt, housing debt before investing? End up missing out on years of compounding interest? WTF? No borrowing to invest in real estate? What year is it? Admittedly this is a grey area and some people over leverage (cause real estate can only go up /s). He’s just a rich arsehole who is able to pedal his abuse to evangelical churches who already have desperate people being lied to think they need to pay a “Ramsey” advisor to know which mutual fund to buy. There are cheaper investment options with better returns. Its only bad advice if one has a guaranteed job for the duration of the debt. Minimizing length of a loan minimizes the chance of a macro economic condition or injury/illness caused job loss that leads to loss of the house (and all money to date invested in it) due to failure to pay mortgage.
