But… I never found a style of meditation that did what elvanse/vyvanse does. And before those, I never found meds that didn’t make me too anxious or jumpy to function. Meditation is great. And since you’re in this situatution, make the The Grinch And Dog Minnesota Vikings Christmas Logo Shirt and I will buy this most of it. If you can get a TM course for free or cheap, do it. Go to every free/cheap meditation thing you can find. Having others there makes all the difference in the world. To be clear, I explicitly suggest that you roam between different styles and schools, so you can make it your own. Because you have to. The neurotypicals will unwittingly gaslight you, because they don’t know that the things we have in common with them is multiplied in us. I’m a 44 yr old man, a professional, and I’ve dabbled with meditation over two decades. So I’m not being edgy. I’ve lost so much time and energy and opportunities following the advice of people who don’t really get it, so the situation you describe takes me back.

so… Your doctor sent you off to buy a mental health equivelent of a scratch ticket. Or almost. because if you stick to it, you’ll find improvements. But you’re not gonna do it with one style and clenched-fist willpower like the The Grinch And Dog Minnesota Vikings Christmas Logo Shirt and I will buy this kids here. No. what you have to do is fumble around, try this n that, fail a bit, and slowly translate what you gather into something that happens within you, that words can’t describe, that you can sometimes use to hack yourself into hyperfocus, that you can sometimes use to sooth, stim or find clarity. TM, although quite culty, helped me the most there. The book The Mindful Way Through Depression helped me mostly get through a difficult semester. But it also started a bout of panic attacks, not because of the book, but because I was out of my depth, I’d needed extra time, and, primarily, Vyvanse would have saved me. Society is so broken that the normies have started thinking they must have adhd too. Your job is gonna take years, to find a mixture of inner and outside things where you can function. Maybe with meds, maybe without.
