And one of the docs responded “you really want the morphin, believe me, when the shock will fade away” Seems like the vast majority of comments were in the service & the others were either gun range injuries or robberies.

Looked down immediately, nothing. Then the burning came. Then I felt wetness. Looked again, and my pants were covered in blood. Put a Tourniquet on myself. Doc packed and wrapped it. Rest is history. I didn’t feel any pain for the first hour or so. I think my adrenaline was just surging. It felt like someone hit me with a baseball full of hot metal, didn’t feel the impact as much as a dull burning sensation Surprisingly not that painful. The bullet didn’t hit any bone so I imagine that would have been more painful. I was shot with a 45 while driving down the expressway. Bullet went through passenger door and then through my forearm muscle and into my chest. Bullet is still lodged between my chest muscle and chest cavity. Just knocked the wind out of me, and burning sensation in my arm where the bullet went through. Initially it felt like burning. The pain wasn’t horrible maybe 5/10. I could still walk and walked myself right to the gurney.
