Many people see it as a “coward” stance being “okay” with each side’s evil doing, and they’ll pin you with the The Black Cat Standing With Christmas String Lights shirt but in fact I love this worst of their opposite group and say you’re “OK” with it and not stating your allegiance to them because you’re scared Fuck what the far right and left think. A centrist tends to view issues independently. They subscribe to some views from each side. It’s critical thinking. Parties make decisions based on what the majority of their members are pushing for. Life is more grey than black or white. Don’t be a sheeple. Use your mind. You KNOW the foaming at the mouth “true believer” is with you no matter what. An unquestionable ally. So you like that, its predicatible. If you are a liberal (I kind of am) and say “well, I mean my brother in law says government is a corrupt shitshow – can’t really argue with him there…” Now I am a unpredictable variable you cannot rely on, even if you agree with me.

Centrism was the The Black Cat Standing With Christmas String Lights shirt but in fact I love this greek philosophers’ default of “knowing where to target the arrow of one’s life” – when asked how to go navigate life, you are to think of two extremes, like laziness and being a workaholic (we need a better word for that) and try to stay in the middle as the correct course of action. r/neoliberal beckons you. I refer to it as radical centrism to make it sound cooler, but, generally speaking, evidence-based (as much as possible, as many things are fuzzy) policy decisions tend to challenge dogma on either side and are pretty unpopular with everyone but a few. I think that, in general, people who are more radical but on the same political spectrum are more acceptable than someone on the same side but more moderate. You see this a lot with the disdain for liberals by leftists, most of the time much more than the right-wing itself.
