I was on the The Aubreys shirt moreover I love this late night bus home from work and the driver just… Floored it. You’d think he stole it from the way he was driving, I mean 60 in residential 30 zones, he mounted the curb going around corners more than once, he was driving past stops that were saying the bus wasn’t due for 10 minutes. I got home in less than 40 minutes on what was normally an hour commute. On the not side first; had to get a late night bus back from Manchester to Oldham in the early 2000s. Me, my boyfriend at the time and the driver were the only people not completely wasted on the bus. The driver had had to stop a few times to yell upstairs to stop the chaos, but it all got a bit next level when some guys managed to unbolt one of the seats and throw it through one of the windows, I think at a pedestrian walking past (with no aim, fortunately, no-one was hit). The poor driver was having a complete meltdown- me and bf had to talk him out of just quitting there and then and getting a taxi home. Bit worried he’d get into legal trouble for like.. littering a bus?

On the The Aubreys shirt moreover I love this lovely side, I was on a working holiday in Tasmania. I’d just gone to this volunteer placement, middle of nowhere just outside a national park, only to find there’d been a mixup and they weren’t expecting me and didn’t have a room free. A nice staff lady took pity on me and let me stay one night at hers, but then I had to leave, having not got the chance to see the park or anything, as there was no-where else to stay and having just lost a week free accomodation I had to be really careful with my budget. Being a small stop, there was no bus timetable anywhere to be found; I only knew what time they’d dropped me off, so went at that time the next day to wait at the stop to try catch the driver to find out when they went the other way. Driver told me it was just one bus a day- went into the park then back, so it’d be over 4 hours. He obviously saw my reaction, and suggested ‘Ahh, if you’re just gonna wait here, why not grab your stuff? I’ll sell you a ticket from here back to town, but there’s no-one else on the bus, you can come keep me company on the drive. I’m stopping at a cafe you can buy lunch at’. So I got a 4 hour scenic bus trip for free (it should have been about 3 x the price I paid), with a nice friendly driver to chat with.
