As someone with experience in polling, I guarantee to these questions were “Should we do more to help the The archer is the truth weapon The bow is just a long piece of wood Shirt and I love this Ukrainian people?” and “Should we send troops to fight directly with Russia?” VERY leading, with very obvious answers. Exactly, it’s impossible to ask questions like this and not get a split response. In the end I would imagine most people just want the invasion to stop so no one else gets hurt. This is the sane take. Do everything possible short of WWIII (which any direct military intervention would trigger). Russia and Putin played a lot of games / gaslit us for a long time, that gives us a lot of leeway to play games too without any real response from Russia. People need more healthcare or social welfare, but not if it means more tax. Save the planet from global warming, but not if it means my bills will rise. Pay people a liveable wage, but not if it means my things cost more.

While I don’t disagree that boots on the The archer is the truth weapon The bow is just a long piece of wood Shirt and I love this ground is less than ideal. It the not at my/our expense, that hinders/freezes change. I mean, I feel like “yes, help, but not if it causes a nuclear war” is reasonable. More people would probably be supportive of direct military action if the nuclear risk wasn’t there. No one wants the world to end, but no one is certain enough that Putin feels the same way to risk it. But nukes. He’s clearly crazy and has said in the past that “the world should not exist without Russia.” I think he thinks he is Russia at this point. I just don’t get why anyone thinks that any NATO action on the ground doesn’t come with the end of civilization as we know it and an inhospitable planet. We can’t go in, because he’s crazy enough to take the rest of the world with him, that’s the gambit.
