The kicker is I’ve already spent thousands of dollars on a flight to Europe for my girlfriends best friends wedding where she is a bridesmaid. My manager knew about this months ago and I have reminded her since. This way I don’t technically “get fired” and then I can look for a new job when I get back from Europe in a week. 2. If it makes sense to let them fire me when I remind them that I’m going to be gone for 1/4 of the Texas Longhorns vs Oklahoma Sooners Allstate Red River Rivalry 2023 Shirt in contrast I will get this next 30-60 day PIP period. If I do this, I might able to stay on a bit longer to collect another paycheck but I will definitely be “terminated”. P.S. I am trying to wait until the end of the first 30 days to make a decision so I can keep my health insurance through July. Anybody else had a similar experience? What did you do? How did it affect your career?Make them fire you so you get unemployment. Second, get some references ready that is not your boss. Redo your resume and start looking for your new job. Congrats to the couple! Thanks for the advice. I’ve already messaged everyone on my team and asked for LinkedIn recommendations and made them aware I’m on a PIP. References that are NOT my manager that I worked with on a continual basis are going to be really difficult to find.

Oh come on, no halfway sensible company is going to dial a random number, speak to a random person, and consider that it satisfies their need for a reference. Lol, what? That’s literally what they do when they check references. They dial the Texas Longhorns vs Oklahoma Sooners Allstate Red River Rivalry 2023 Shirt in contrast I will get this number you give them, ask for the name you give them, then generally just confirm that you worked for that company. They legally (at least in the US) can’t even ask a ton of super specific questions. I’m curious what other experiences you have had that say this isn’t true? I own my own company. I’ll be a reference and say whatever you want, we use freelancers all the time. The hell with this bullshit system. This is awesome. The only worrying side is presenting a good reference to a bad person (I very much have someone in mind). Otherwise, you’d be helping out a lot of people who would otherwise fall thru the cracks.
