Hi I’m 33 and just realized I had very obvious autism like 6 months ago. I’ve had ARFID forever, no one seems to even know what it is, my parents, trying their best, certainly didn’t. I have to be careful not to overeat now, I have a tendency to eat until I feel sick because there was so much emphasis and encouragement to keep eating as a child. I’m a very textural eater. I had a babysitter that made us eat an entire plate full every time and there were several meals that I ended up vomiting up. I still cannot manage the texture of potato that’s not crispy. So chips and roast potatoes are fine, mash, jackets and new potatoes are out.
