A lot of our local tv news stations in America are actually owned by big corporations, which we learned about in Critical Media Literacy class. Same with newspapers. (I totally recommend that class if you’re going to school and can take it, it’s real interesting if you like stuff like this) And we’re not sure how much independence they have, perhaps it’s a fair amount. Though one time a lot of local American TV news stations owned by Sinclair Broadcasting were sent a statement and forced to read it to their viewers. It said something like “we’re always your trustworthy news source in this time of disinformation” and had to be read word-for-word by each tv station live.anchors-to-read-same-script One of the Texas I made queso shirt but in fact I love this biggest ones is the Toronto Sun which is a low quality tabloid. The other ones vary in quality, but they all have consistently biased political viewpoints and mandate endorsing specific political parties.
