I told my mum I did not believe in God when I was 14 and she said “Cool, what do you want for dinner? Because I am not in the Team Conrad Lifetime Member Eagle American Flag T-Shirt moreover I love this mood for cooking” its not. being a an ethical vegetarian has nothing to do with atheism. makes no sense. also it propbaly has nothing to do with religion either lol I openly tell people I’m an atheist when they ask. Nobody really cares. In more rural areas, some people don’t know what “atheist” means. If I need to explain, I’ll usually just mumble some nonsense about how “I’m a small person who can’t possibly hope to understand what happens after death, and I’ll see what the afterlife has—or doesn’t have—in store once I’m in a position to see for myself.” Even if some people can’t wrap their heads around what, exactly, atheism entails, most folks know non-believers and don’t pay them much mind, for better or for worse.

I think the Team Conrad Lifetime Member Eagle American Flag T-Shirt moreover I love this most common response I get to saying “I’m an atheist” or “nastik” is, “Oh, I have a [friend, cousin, uncle] like you,” and then the conversation goes in another direction. I shifted to a more upscale part of town because people in my Muslim dominated locality would give me looks for drinking water during Ramadan or counsel me to be more religious. I was evicted from a flatshare by a non-Muslim homeowner because he didn’t want any Muslim tenants. I’ve been trying to date and it’s hard to find people with whom I can have a future because most Indians take religion very seriously. I’ve been using Bumble to find fellow atheists and agnostics, limited success so far. It is mostly people from well off families that some people come out as atheists (at least from what I’ve observed) I myself am an atheist and I personally didn’t have any fear in telling my parents that I am an atheist. The poor and lower middle class people are the ones that are usually the most religious people.
